Complementary & Alternative Medicine

Looking at the whole person. The National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine defines CAM as a “group of diverse medial and healthcare systems, practices and products that are not generally considered part of conventional medicine.” Using CAM along with conventional medicine can provide many benefits to the residents of Ten Broeck Commons. CAM techniques are usually more holistic then conventional medicine alone. These practices include spiritual, emotional, personal energy and physical health techniques that often focus on prevention.

Ten Broeck Commons’ CAM program consists of the following components or possible interventions:

  • Massage Therapy
  • Spiritual Care
  • Music Therapy
  • Guided Imagery
  • Reiki
  • Light Therapy
  • Myofascial Release
  • Oil Therapy
  • Aromatherapy
